About the role
 
We are engaged in a multi-phased national scale-up of evidence-based education interventions and looking for dynamic individuals to oversee the coordination of activities in the respective province/district related to the implementation of the TaRL program in the schools.
 
The Officer will serve as a stakeholder liaison for the TaRL program and will play an essential role in ensuring that the school implementation, training, and facilitation are standardised, completed at quality, and relevant for the Province and District.
 
They will be responsible for providing general implementation coordination for the program to ensure successful delivery, including ensuring that the fieldwork, training, and other organisational workflows are completed at quality. They will contribute to logistical success in all local fieldwork as well as the codification of decisions, protocols, procedures, and best practices for institutional memory, contributing to and maintaining logistical plans.
 
Key responsibilities
  • Contribute to the implementation of Teaching at the Right Level-related projects.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) that outline the program protocols around field implementation.
  • Capture insights from the field: Develop program-related databases and ensure that they are updated on a timely basis.
  • Capacity Building: To be available for all training sessions in the respective region. Be able to train and facilitate sessions.
  • To be available to contribute to the assessment of students’ learning levels at baseline, midline and endline.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate data collection and submission by teachers.
  • Manage program logistics and work alongside Program Coordinators to ensure the successful implementation of program activities.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits in schools to ensure effective, quality, and standardised program implementation.
Required experience and qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in project management, education or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage projects, teams, problem-solve and build and maintain relationships in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to build systems and create structure from the ground up in addition to nurturing and innovating on existing systems.
  • Proactive self-starter, organised, and can propose effective solutions to complex problems, ideate and innovate.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to multitask.

  • Travel requirements: Extensive travel in and around the assigned region expected
  • Legal requirements: Legal right to work in South Africa
  • Language: Fluency in English and Tswana or other local language
