Main Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Territorial Coordinator of the Project , the WASH Technician is responsible for:
• Ensure the correct technical implementation of the WASH component and its activities at the local level.
• Support the planning, implementation, monitoring and accountability of safe water provision and hygiene promotion activities, considered in the WASH component of the project.
• Coordinate the collection of data and the determination of the eligibility of families for the delivery of safe water and hygiene supplies.
• Perform data analysis and reporting as needed.
• Maintain communication with people of interest, assistance beneficiaries, and partners.
• Ensure compliance with the organization's administrative and financial processes related to the implementation of activities.
• Perform other related tasks to fulfill commitments related to the WASH sector, internal and external, within the established timeframes (schedules, products, reports, etc.).
Main activities of each responsibility
Prioritization and selection of beneficiary families
• Coordinate with the CVA component of the project the process of identifying and selecting beneficiaries
• Apply the prioritization and beneficiary selection criteria of the WASH component, according to the indications of the WASH technical committee and the coordinations established by the project coordinator at the territorial level
• Coordinate the collection of data from beneficiary families and the eligibility determination process for the delivery of safe water supplies and hygiene kits, and the hygiene promotion process.
Coordination of the delivery process for safe water supplies and hygiene kits
• Carry out the logistical coordination for the delivery of safe water supplies (Ecofilters) and hygiene kits (family hygiene kit and menstrual kit).
• Plan and coordinate with communities, hygiene promotion committees and hygiene promoters the process of delivering safe water supplies and hygiene kits.
• Ensure the collection of verification documents that support the delivery of safe water supplies and hygiene kits to families.
Facilitation of organizational processes for the formation of community committees for the promotion of hygiene
• Facilitate awareness-raising spaces regarding the scope of the project, and facilitate community-level organizational processes for the formation of hygiene promotion committees.
• Facilitate the process of identifying, forming and appropriating the hygiene promotion committees and hygiene promoters in each of the communities
Application of the SATHOSO methodology for the promotion of hygiene
• Contribute to the design, adaptation, and contextualization of the Information, Education and Communication materials of the SATHOSO methodology.
• Strengthening the capacities of hygiene committees and community hygiene promoters for the implementation of the SATHOSO methodology
• Ensure the implementation of the SATHOSO methodology with the involvement of hygiene committees and community hygiene promoters
Monitoring, tracking, information management and evaluation of the WASH component
• Manage and update information related to the delivery of safe water supplies and hygiene kits, and the hygiene promotion process.
• Perform data analysis and generate periodic reports for decision-making.
• Coordinate with the implementation team of the CVA and Protection components decisions, activities and visits related to the WASH component.
• Prepare implementation reports and follow-up actions, periodically as required by the donor
• Ensure the quality and timely delivery of the verification methods.
• Use the technical instruments required for the collection of data required by the organization and the donor, from the communities and families where the project will be implemented, under the technical guidance of the project coordinator.
Other binding tasks assigned by the Territorial Coordinator of the project.
• Represent the Organization on matters related to its component if requested.
• To contribute their professional, technical knowledge and experience in spaces of interaction or synergy with the organization's programs and teams.
• To support the processes of systematizing experiences and best practices regarding the components of the project, its internal and external articulations in support of the organization's knowledge management.
• Maintain adequate communication at both internal and external levels.
• Develop a positive working relationship to contribute to teamwork, good communication and the achievement of objectives.
• Comply with the deadlines set by the organization for the delivery of commitments/products.
• Incorporate the values that guide institutional action into the development of interventions.

Safeguarding Children, Prevention of Harassment, Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (PSHEA), Gender Equity and Inclusion
Ensure that Plan International’s global Safeguarding Children and Young People (SCP), PSHEA, and Gender Equality and Inclusion policies are fully integrated in accordance with policy principles and requirements, including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines, as applicable to your area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that staff and partners are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and addressed in accordance with appropriate procedures .
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Qualifications and experience:
• University degree or Higher Technical degree in Civil, Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Two (2) years of verifiable experience in similar functions with populations with WASH needs at risk due to natural and/or anthropogenic events.
• Two (2) years of work experience in humanitarian and/or development contexts, with vulnerable populations (poverty, displacement, migration, social violence)
• Knowledge of SPHERE standards in the WASH sector and the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (desirable)
• Demonstrated knowledge in the design of WASH training programs, including the development of educational materials and monitoring and evaluation tools.
• Experience in report preparation, data collection and analysis, information management and systematization.
• Proficiency in Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet-based collaborative tools (Office365, Dropbox, Google Drive, We-Transfer, Google Calendar or similar).
• General knowledge of finance, administration and information management.
• Experience in international cooperation and the operation of non-governmental organizations, UN agencies and other international organizations, local and regional governments.
Job-specific skills:

Desirable Requirements
• Driver's license: Possess a valid driver's license, with verifiable experience in driving 4X4 vehicles on complex routes.
• Availability to travel and relocate: Essential within the department of Alta Verapaz.
• Language Proficiency: Local language proficiency is desirable
