NOTICE INVITING EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)
The Insights Initiative invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified and experienced individuals with methodology expertise to support the production of two key outputs for the Sri Lanka Barometer (SLB); 1) The SLB Snapshot Survey on Climate, Disaster Recovery, and Community Resilience in Sri Lanka to capture public perceptions in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah and (2) the upcoming national public opinion survey on reconciliation for the year 2027.
The SLB is a research initiative to deepen the understanding of how Sri Lankans perceive reconciliation and its most salient dimensions, as well as to track progress in each of these dimensions. The initiative consists of three components: nationally representative public opinion surveys; complementary qualitative research to further explore the findings of the surveys; and outreach work. The overarching objective of the SLB is to inform public discourse and policymaking in the country’s pursuit of greater unity and inclusion.
Piloted under the Strengthening Reconciliation Processes in Sri Lanka (SRP) and later supported by Strengthening Social Cohesion and Peace in Sri Lanka (SCOPE), the SLB is now implemented by The Insights Initiative (Guarantee) Limited, supported by Search for Common Ground (SFCG) and funded by the European Union.
The selected methodologist will provide technical leadership and quality assurance across both surveys, ensuring methodological rigour and high-quality outputs. For the Snapshot Survey (a short telephone survey), responsibilities include advising on sampling design, reviewing the questionnaire, overseeing data quality, supporting analysis, and conducting a peer review of the final report. For the 2027 SLB National Public Opinion Survey, the role includes refining the survey instrument, ensuring comparability with previous waves, conducting psychometric validation of indicators, overseeing data quality and sample weighting, supporting advanced analysis, and peer reviewing the final report.
Interested parties must demonstrate:

- Strong expertise in quantitative data analysis; Minimum 15 years of experience in survey methodology, including nationally representative public opinion surveys
