About MAF — Films for Life
Medical Aid Films (MAF — Films for Life) is an award-winning international NGO producing educational films and media for humanitarian and development programmes across 184 countries. We work at the intersection of storytelling, education, and behaviour change, producing accessible, high-quality content for communities in some of the world’s most complex and underserved environments.
We are currently expanding our Syria programme and are seeking an experienced Syria-based Digital Skills Facilitator to join an upcoming project focused on digital literacy education.
The Role
You will co-facilitate an in-person Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop in Syria, alongside MAF’s in-country lead. The training will build the capacity of community educators and NGO facilitators to deliver a digital literacy curriculum covering three core dimensions: Coding & Digital Culture, Digital Inclusion, and Digital Citizenship.
Key responsibilities:
• Co-facilitate the 2-day ToT workshop with MAF’s in-country lead
• Deliver practical demonstrations of digital skills activities across all three curriculum dimensions
• Lead role-play and practice delivery sessions to build facilitator confidence
• Provide guidance on adapting activities for mixed-literacy, low-connectivity settings
• Support the preparation of workshop materials and contribute to the post-training report
What We’re Looking For Essential:
• Based in Syria with the ability to travel within the Damascus or Aleppo region
• Demonstrated experience delivering digital literacy, digital skills, or ICT training in community or informal education settings in Syria
• Strong facilitation skills with diverse groups, including women, youth, and participants with varying literacy levels
• Familiarity with at least two of the following areas: coding and digital tools, digital inclusion, or online safety and digital citizenship
• Fluent Arabic speaker; working English is an advantage
• Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or community organisations in Syria (IOM, UNICEF, IRC, or similar preferred)
Desirable:
• Prior Training of Trainers experience
• Knowledge of gender-sensitive and psychosocially aware facilitation approaches
• Experience delivering digital skills programmes in low-resource or offline-compatible settings
What We Offer
• Competitive daily rate commensurate with experience
• The opportunity to contribute to a meaningful digital literacy programme reaching displaced youth and women across Syria
• Collaboration with an experienced international humanitarian media and education team
