The Role
As a Designer at iProbono, you will translate legal victories and human rights advocacy into compelling visual narratives. You will work closely with the Communications and Program teams to create high-impact assets for digital campaigns, impact reports, policy reports, and community toolkits that drive public support for social justice.
Your responsibilities will center on organisation brand identity, content creation for social media and website, and knowledge management to highlight our impact and engage the public effectively. We are specifically looking for someone who can support our communications team with design tasks, has video editing proficiency as well as a high degree of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and similar design tools.
You will work with our Head of Communications based in Sri Lanka and liaise with our global team to identify impactful stories in our key focus areas and ensure our communications efforts resonate with a wide audience.
The role will also involve researching references, social media trends, best practices, and innovative formats to present our work effectively across digital platforms, such as reels, carousel posts, and other engaging and upcoming formats. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals while contributing to meaningful, high-impact advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop a unique and recognisable visual brand identity ensuring cohesive brand messaging across all digital and print material.
• Develop visually compelling social media posts, posters, infographics, impact reports and toolkits.
• Support the creation of social media deliverables including video and audio content
• Design physical and digital branding material for workshops, conferences, webinars and other events
• Assist in updating website visual content and ensuring cohesive brand messaging across all digital touchpoints.
• Assist with archiving and organizing content, assets, and past campaign materials
Skills and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or Multimedia Arts.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working within a design agency, in-house team, or a mission-driven NGO.
• Advanced proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Experience in creating short motion graphics (After Effects) and basic video editing (Premiere Pro) is highly preferred.
• A strong grasp of typography, layout hierarchy, and storytelling through data.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to provide website design updates
• Excellent communication skills in English both written and oral. Additional proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil is highly desirable.
• A deep commitment to social justice and the ability to handle sensitive human rights content with ethical care.
• Strong interpersonal skills as you will work with a global team.
