As BRAC moves beyond its fiftieth anniversary the organisation is embarking on a new, ambitious growth journey which aims to reach over 250 million people worldwide by 2030. To support BRAC’s global mission and growth ambitions, BRAC Europe is now looking to recruit a Head of Nordics Office / Trusts & Foundations Manager. The purpose is to establish new partnerships and deepen relationships with our existing partners in Denmark, Sweden and Norway and to start building the Nordic fundraising organisation.

BRAC is building a team of exceptional fundraisers who possess the vision, passion, and expertise to lead the organization into its next phase of development. As Head of Nordics Office / Trusts & Foundations Manager you will be part of an international organisation. The Nordics are part of BRAC’s office in Europe, which was founded in 2006. BRAC Europe is one of the four members of the BRAC Global Group alongside BRAC Bangladesh BRAC International and BRAC USA. 

 

The European office plays a pivotal role in forging strategic partnerships in support of BRAC’s programmes. The focus lies on building impactful, long-term relationships with partners whether they be governments, private sector organisations, or major donors. BRAC Europe also play a leading role in engaging with policymakers across Europe to tackle extreme poverty. 

 

About the role

Having identified the Nordic region as a key priority market, this role will be BRAC Europe’s first hire in the Nordics.

 

The new Trust and Foundations manager will be acting as the head of office for BRAC’s Nordics office covering Denmark, Sweden and Norway and therefore be BRAC Europe’s senior representative in the Nordics. 

 

As a vital part of the Partnerships team, the core function of the role is to drive BRAC’s partnerships development strategy across the three key Nordic markets. This includes strengthening existing relationships with in the private and public sector as well as developing new long-term collaborative partnerships, focusing primarily on private sector trusts and foundations. 

 

Your primary tasks include: 

 

1. Partnership Management & Thought Leadership

Develop and implement a variety of tailored partnership models. Identify trends and emerging funding priorities, co-create high-impact initiatives, and position BRAC as a Nordic thought leader. Align efforts across teams for cohesive engagement.

2. New Business Development

Diversify funding sources, exploring corporate foundations and innovative financing. Build a multi-year growth pipeline focused on long-term strategic partnerships. Develop compelling, fundable proposals and conduct due diligence to ensure partner alignment. Track and evaluate partnership performance, using data-driven insights to refine strategies.

3. Team & Office Leadership

Establish BRAC’s long-term presence in the Nordics, including recruitment, team development, and office setup. Provide strategic leadership, aligning partnerships with organizational objectives. Ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

We are looking for a proactive and entrepreneurial Trust & Foundations Manager – is that you? 

This role is a fantastic opportunity to build up something new and at the same time become part of a truly unique development organisation, formed and led from the Global South. To be able to thrive and succeed with our ambitions, BRAC is seeking an entrepreneurial and ambitious fundraising expert, with a proven track record in establishing and stewarding larger partnerships with trusts or foundations in the Nordic region, who will relish the responsibility to establish BRAC’s presence in the Nordics region. As Trust & Foundations Manager we expect you to build long-term partnerships to deliver impactful, lasting change.  Therefore we imagine that you have   solid experience either from the for-profit or not-for-profit sector, where you have a track record of securing substantial private sector funding - or from working in a trust or foundation with international partnerships.  

 

The ideal candidate is a proactive, entrepreneurial self-starter with a strong network, capable of identifying and acting on market trends, building sustainable alliances, and ensuring results-oriented delivery.

The practicalities

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark. The role will initially be home-based, with the option to work from a co-working space up to two days per week. Following the recruitment of additional team members it will switch to a hybrid arrangement – precise details are still to be confirmed but expected to include (as a minimum) monthly in-office meetings with Nordics Office colleagues and quarterly in-office meetings with colleagues from across BRAC Europe. 

 

A valid work permit for working in Danmark is required.
