STRATEGIC FOCUS
The Executive Director will provide strategic direction, oversee programs, and manage stakeholder engagement, including funders and partners. Reporting to the Board of Directors, he/she will drive the organization’s growth, ensuring financial sustainability, program excellence, and effective advocacy. The ideal candidate must be visionary, adaptable, and passionate about women’s leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Management
- Overseeing quality implementation of all aspects of the Center’s diverse portfolio and ensuring the integration of and overseeing the implementation of the Center’s Strategic Planthe strategy of the Amujae 2.0, the Center’s inaugural flagship program.
- Support the Board to implement the recommendations from the Board Review, progressing the design and development of the Presidential Museum and Library; and ensuring the timely launch of the capital campaign.
- Liaising with the Founder and Board Chair to ensure alignment on priorities and key decisions; maintaining strong communications with the Board of Directors to assure Board involvement with strategic direction and risks; serving as the primary interlocutor between the Board, the staff, and other stakeholders.
External Relations, Fundraising & Communications
- Supporting fundraising activities and proposals in support of Center strategy.
- Ensuring continued momentum toward launching the capital campaign, management of consultancy firms and advisors, and coordination with Center staff and stakeholders.
- In coordination with the Founder & Board Chair, ensure the Center is strategically and professionally represented in all fundraising contexts.
Budget and Administration:
- Working with the COO, ensure that the flow of funds permits the Center to make continuous progress towards the achievement of its mission and that those funds are allocated properly to reflect present needs and future potential.
- Develop regular communication with EJS Foundation to request/report on Foundation managed resources.
- Oversee governance, risk management, and compliance to maintain operational efficiency and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- A post graduate degree or MBA in relevant field and a combination of professional experience, academic training and relationships with leaders on a multinational level.
- Must have at least 10 years professional experience in senior management positions with a track record of leading and scaling performance- and outcomes-based organizations regionally; proven ability to develop and operationalize strategies that drive organizational growth.
- A broad understanding of public service leadership and advancing and sustaining women’s political and social development on the continent.
- Experience in managing programs, fundraising, external relations and advocacy and representation.
- Fluent in English (oral and written) with French being an added advantage.
JOB CONTEXT
Location: Liberia
Compensation: Regionally competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including relocation allowance, lodging support, and medical insurance
Mobility: The job is and requires the incumbent to spend a defined minimum presence in Liberia.
Duration: Two-year commitment with the possibility of renewal.
