Professional Experience:

I am a highly experienced global health researcher and consultant with more than 18 years of professional experience spanning low- and middle-income countries, particularly across East and Central Africa. My career reflects a deep commitment to strengthening health systems through rigorous research, strategic analysis, and practical program support. I bring a multidisciplinary background grounded in social science, along with a nuanced understanding of the cultural, social, and institutional dynamics that affect health outcomes.

I am a proud generalist, with expertise spanning a wide range of technical areas within global health, including maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (MNCAH); infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and Ebola; as well as emerging issues such as COVID-19. I have specialized knowledge in traditional, complementary, and alternative medicine and have contributed to global discussions and policy development in this area through my work with the World Health Organization’s Global Traditional Medicine Center. My technical focus is on health systems strengthening, with particular emphasis on governance, health information systems, service delivery and utilization, innovative financing mechanisms, and public-private partnerships.

Professionally, I serve as Partner and Co-founder of Global Health Insights, LLC, where I oversee both the operational and technical aspects of a research and consulting firm. In addition to this leadership role, I work as an independent public health consultant, providing services to major international organizations, including WHO, USAID, the World Bank, the Stop TB Partnership, and PATH. My work involves producing high-quality technical deliverables such as reports, policy briefs, evaluations, and knowledge products that inform strategy, advocacy, and program implementation.
I have extensive experience in evidence synthesis, literature reviews, and mixed-methods process evaluations and assessments, including baseline studies, mid-term and final evaluations, and landscape analyses. I have led and contributed to numerous global and national reviews, analyzing policies, strategies, and health system performance across multiple countries. My ability to translate complex data into actionable insights has helped organizations refine strategies, improve program effectiveness, and inform decision-making at high levels. I also have significant experience developing advocacy and knowledge products, including briefs and communication materials. My work often bridges the gap between research and practice, ensuring that evidence is accessible and impactful.

My early career included academic research as a Fulbright Scholar in Tanzania, where I conducted in-depth ethnographic research on children’s lives and livelihoods. This foundation continues to shape my approach to global health, emphasizing context-sensitive, culturally informed solutions.
