Professional Experience:

I am currently working remotely as an intern for the United Nations Peacebuilding Support Office (UN Secretariat in NY). I previously interned with the State Government of Meghalaya in India as a summer intern, supporting the state government's youth empowerment project funded by the World Bank. I developed the first communications strategy for the project, which was approved by the Development Commissioner, and designed the project's specific implementation plans.

As a knowledge management intern at the UN World Food Programme headquarters in Rome, I supported the humanitarian & development division in updating the WFP Programme Guidance Manual. By accelerating the transition process for 10+ teams, reviewing 20+ policy guidance documents, and streamlining tasks, I helped shorten the soft launch timeline by 2 months from its originally planned date.

I also worked with international and local non-governmental organisations, including LIMUN Foundation, PeaceX, and the World Federation of United Nations Associations, to support their education-related initiatives. At LIMUN Foundation, I developed and organised the first-ever free online Model United Nations training program in the UK, Connected Delegates Programme (CDP), which provided an opportunity for 200+ secondary students from 18 countries to learn about global affairs and debate during the pandemic, and offered a replicable model for online debate training worldwide. I was later elected as the foundation's first Korean trustee.

Originally from the Republic of Korea, I served my country as a social service agent, working at an adult daycare center for people with disabilities. I co-authored the centre’s first training guidebook to standardise the onboarding process and designed a new inclusive educational activity, “Hae-In Radio,” for people with disabilities to share their inner thoughts, both of which have been officially adopted by the centre. Based on my experience working with people with disabilities and numerous consultations with frontline social workers, I also wrote a policy proposal to my home District Office to adopt disability-inclusive designs for the district’s art programme, which was adopted as an official policy.

Through these experiences, I developed an interest in building the capacity of local actors to lead sustainable political and economic development and creating new opportunities for the affected population.

Education:

I am currently finishing my final year of the Master’s in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School (graduating this May). I previously studied a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Relations at King’s College London and also studied Economics at the Korea National Open University.
