Professional Experience:
My career spans a diverse range of specialties and thematic areas within the field of migration and development. I have worked in many different countries and cultures, with different stakeholders, spanning both conflict and non-conflict zones. Overall, my vocation reflects a strong commitment to addressing migration-related challenges and achieving positive outcomes in areas such as emergency relief, re/integration, protection, livelihoods, and Preventing/Countering Violent Extremism across various regions. My expertise is in project development, programme management, evaluation, and partnership building.

I am currently working as a freelance consultant, on a migration project focusing on mapping movements of migrants and refugees, and supporting to identify avenues for building capacity for movement operations globally.

Between 2020 and 2022, I served as the Head of Community Cohesion and Migrant Integration (CC&MI) Pillar in Cairo, Egypt. During my tenure, I strengthened the Pillar's portfolio by successfully raising funds, developing strategies, and onboarding staff. I forged partnerships with private and public bodies, established a community of stakeholders to collaborate on migrant integration and social cohesion. Working closely with the Egyptian Government, we advocated for the formalization of migrant and host communities’ livelihoods and health.

From January 2020 to March 2020, I worked as a Regional Reintegration Evaluation Consultant in Banjul, Gambia. I was contracted to evaluate IOM Gambia's Return and Reintegration and Protection programming, focusing on livelihoods, health, counter trafficking, human smuggling, psychosocial support, and awareness raising.

In 2019, I served as a temporary cover as the Head of Programme Development & Support Unit in Lagos, Nigeria. In this capacity, I ensured the effective implementation, expenditure, compliance, reporting, and donor liaison for various Migration Management and Protection programmes, including Return and Reintegration programming, livelihoods, counter trafficking, and awareness raising.

In 2018, I worked as an Integrated Border Management Consultant focusing on Somalia and Somaliland. I was tasked with producing two comprehensive assessments with a focus on migration coordination, human resources, border operations, document security, regular and irregular migration, humanitarian border management, and information management.

I was the Regional Migration Management Officer in Nairobi, Kenya (2017), acting as interim coordinator for regional EU-funded programmes, namely Better Migration Management and Joint Initiative on Return and Reintegration. Also I was the head of the Programme Development & Support Unit in Nairobi Kenya (2016-2017) where I focused on project development, strategy consolidation, and staff management while supporting livelihoods and social cohesion activities under the umbrella of P/CVE.

My earlier roles include serving as a Shelter Project Consultant in Kathmandu, Nepal (2016) post-earthquake designing the communicating with communities’ strategy, and leading on the M&E of shelter programming. This included the Build Back Safer programme, as well as distribution activities.

During my time in Iraq I worked as an Emergency & Programme Support Officer (2015-2016), and Assistant to the Head of Erbil Hub/Officer in Charge (2014-2015). I was responsible for liaison, coordinating NFI distributions, and supporting with supply chain management to livelihoods programmes. I was additionally involved in Cash Based Interventions, and supporting a Humanitarians Admission Programme.
