Professional Experience:
As an experienced research consultant, my professional journey has been marked by various accomplishments and collaboration with esteemed institutions. My expertise spans across agriculture, water management, and climate change-related fields. My strong foundation in research and project coordination has allowed me to make meaningful contributions to each project I have participated in.
I am currently working as a research consultant with Virginia Tech University, conducting an Impact Analysis of their Integrated Pest Management Project in Bangladesh. Previously, I collaborated with Virginia Tech University and Cornell University on a project titled "Livelihood in a Climate-change Vulnerable Region," covering 30 villages in the Indian Sundarbans. This project involved conducting focus group discussions to understand the livelihood challenges faced by communities in the region.
As the Project Coordinator for a yearlong study project called "Climate Migration and Impacts on Household Financial Activities: Evidence from the Sundarbans Region in India," I had the opportunity to work alongside the University of California, Davis, Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics. Our study aimed to shed light on the factors that influence climate-induced migration and how household members remaining behind utilize remittance flows to cope with their daily expenditures.
During my tenure as Research and Project Coordinator at The Researcher, West Bengal (2010-2021), I contributed to several projects, including "Unravelling the Water-Energy-Food Nexus in West Bengal, India" as a data manager, and the "T2S (Transformation to sustainability): H2O" research project as a local coordinator. Additionally, I worked on the Arsenic Awareness and Mitigation project in South 24 Parganas, as well as multiple research studies with International Water Management Institute (IWMI).
My professional experience also includes working as an Office Assistant at Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India (2008-2010), where I was responsible for administrative tasks, report writing, designing Annual Report, Monthly Report booklets, and other literature published by the institution, and website maintenance.
As an Independent Consultant, I have worked on various projects, including the "Serampore Initiative" project by The National Museum of Denmark, the research study titled "Effects of Climate Change on Economic Participation in Sundarbans region, India," and the restoration of Serampore's heritage buildings from the Danish period, undertaken by the National Museum of Denmark.
I have co-authored several papers and publications, including peer-reviewed articles in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and Economic Letters. Additionally, I have contributed to working papers such as "Extent of Digital Inclusion in Sundarbans Region of West Bengal" and "Crossing the Frontiers: Transdisciplinary Research and the Negotiated Approach for Peri-Urban Groundwater Management in the Indo-Gangetic Delta."
In summary, my professional experience as a research consultant, project coordinator, office assistant, and independent consultant has equipped me with the skills and expertise necessary to contribute to valuable research projects across a variety of fields. My collaborations with renowned institutions, diverse project experience, and publications demonstrate my commitment to advancing knowledge and providing meaningful insights that can contribute to positive change.
