Professional Experience:

I have 20 years' experience in the development sector with expertise in human rights, gender equality and governance. Have worked multi-cultural environments providing technical capacity to government, and local organizations through research, policy and legal advocacy and capacity building initiatives. I am a holder of Masters in Women’s Law awarded by the University of Zimbabwe in 2010. I specialized in Human Rights, International Law, Law and Development and Gender Studies. Additionally, I graduated from the University of Zimbabwe and was awarded a Bachelor of Law Honours Degree in 2005. Currently working with UN Women as Programe Specialist on Governance Women Political Participation, Women Peace and Security. Programs are providing technical and financial support to key line Ministries, developing policies and laws to enhance gender inclusive elections, women participation in leadership and peace processes. I have expertise in movement building working feminist organizations and networks in my previous post was the national coordinator of a vibrant women's network with 90 women rights organizations affiliated- Women Coalition of Zimbabwe.
I also served for 5 years as Director for Women and Law in Southern Africa a subregional network in SADC. I led a team in mobilizing resources for the network for multi -country programs in natural resources governance on Extractives, Climate Justice, Women Political Participation and Sexual Reproductive Health. I also led the team through action-oriented research in the socio-legal field and advocating for women’s rights. Before joining WLSA in 2018 I briefly worked with the European Union Election Observer Mission in Zimbabwe. I also previously worked with Oxfam Novib in 2013 in Zimbabwe as Country Funding Coordinator and 2013-18 with Oxfam as Extractives Industry Adviser.
I have designed and fundraised and implemented programs , research and conducted trainings at local and regional level and international platforms. This has seen me leading projects on electoral processes at regional level giving me exposure to work with SADC , SADC -PF amongst other institutions as a consultant, Researcher, Legal and Policy Drafter and Trainer. I have extensive experience of evaluations, baseline surveys and assessments in Zimbabwe and Southern African Region. I have supported and provided technical expertise working with teams in key assignments for the United Nations Agencies, Southern African Development Community, and World Bank. In addition, I have very strong skills in policy and strategy development, excellent analytical, documentation, and facilitation skills as well as interpersonal and organizational skills.
