Professional Experience:

Chief of Party: John Snow Research and Training Institute/USAID Advancing Nutrition. In this role, I provided both managerial and technical oversight to the project, managed project start up and closeout.

Technical Team Lead: Community Health Systems: Palladium Group International/USAID Uganda Health Systems Strengthening Activity. I was responsible for leading the design and implementation of community systems strengthening activities specifically development of regulatory frameworks including the National Community Health Strategy, Home Based Care Guide for COVID-19, COVID-19 Homebased Care Guide, Community Engagement Framework, Health Promotion Handbook, and rollout of the Community health Workforce pilot.

Acting Director- Health Systems Strengthening with IntraHealth International/USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern (RHITES-E) Uganda. I spearhead district led-programming and coordinated implementation of project activities in 30 districts, including strengthening the capacity of District Health Management Teams (DHMTs) in planning, rollout out of the national quality improvement frame work, and engagement of the civil society organizations to increase demand for and access to and access to quality health services.

District Capacity Building and Quality Improvement Team Lead with IntraHealth International/USAID RHITES-E. I was charged with the responsibility of coordinating the implementation of activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of 30 district local governments through the district led programming models, rolled out the quality improvement framework and strategic plan at district and facility levels, managed community level interventions, coordinated facility level mentorship programs, provided technical assistance to districts in the implementation of quality-of-care assessments.

Deputy Chief of Party: Family Health International (FH1360)/USAID Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance Project (FANTA III). I provided technical assistance to national and sub national levels to operationalize the Nutrition Coordination Committee structures, contributed to the development of training guides and manuals for the development of Nutrition Action Plans for Multi-sectoral Nutrition Programming, and built the capacity of District Nutrition Coordination Committees.

Regional Coordinator: Management Sciences for Health (MSH)/USAID STRIDES for Family Health Project: I coordinated and managed implementation of project activities in 6 districts including; technical assistance to districts to develop district management improvement plans, planning for integrated health outreaches, capacity building for community health workers, training of district health management teams in leadership and governance, stakeholder mapping and engagements and monitoring and evaluation.

Programmes Coordinator/Regional Administrator: Community Health Financing Association for Eastern Africa. I spearheaded the rollout of community-based health financing schemes, managed grants to national associations, developed training manuals for community health financing and rolled out training programs for health financing schemes.
Project Administrator/Project Manager: HealthPartners/Uganda Health Cooperatives. Spearheaded initiation of Community Based Health Financing Schemes in Gulu District
I have also worked as an independent consultant for JSI, MSH and Hera Right to Health and Development

Education:

I hold a Masters of Science degree in Public Health - orientation Health Systems Management and Policy from the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp, Belgium and a Masters degree in Population and Reproductive Health from Makerere University. I also hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences - Orientation Sociology and Social Administration from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda.

To further strengthen my career in development programming and global health I undertook certificate training courses on Leadership and Management in Health and introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of Washington, and a short training course in Public Administration and Management from Makerere University Kampala.

Additionally, I have over the years participated in several trainings/workshops including community led monitoring, development of community based health financing schemes, and leadership development program.
