In this dynamic position, you will be part of the Advice Department and collaborate closely with colleagues across ICES Secretariat. You will support experts from both the Secretariat and the wider ICES community in ensuring that the data, tools, and processes underpinning ICES advice are robust, efficient, and fit for purpose.
The role combines scientific data work, technical support, and coordination. You will work with ICES expert groups and advisory processes, contribute to the continued development and use of the Transparent Assessment Framework (TAF), and help strengthen the flow of data between those who provide it and those who use it.

Key responsibilities
* Coordinate work on ICES data calls, working across departments and expert groups to ensure data requirements, timelines and quality standards are met and maintained

* Coordinate with the EU Regional Coordination Groups (RCGs) to ensure data needs, issues, and requirements are communicated clearly
* Support the development and use of the ICES Transparent Assessment Framework (TAF), including first-line support for R scripts, Git, GitHub, and related documentation
* Contribute to the tools, databases, and systems behind ICES scientific advice, working with colleagues to improve how data and information are governed
* Work with colleagues and scientists across ICES on projects and data-related challenges that cut across different areas of data and advice

Required competences and experience
* A relevant university degree in marine science, fisheries science, data science, statistics, or another relevant field
* Experience working with scientific data, including data processing, quality assurance, management, or analysis
* Experience using R and familiarity with Git and GitHub
* An understanding of reproducible analytical workflows and good data management practices
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate activities involving different contributors and stakeholders
* Strong English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds
* The ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage changing priorities and deadlines

What ICES offers
You will join a diverse and collaborative team that values professionalism, integrity, and continuous learning. We offer a meaningful role in supporting evidence-based marine governance, along with a supportive and inclusive workplace culture that encourages innovation and teamwork.
