The role ensures that goods and services are purchased in line with War Child's procurement policy, donor rules and Ukrainian law, that every procurement file is audit-ready, and that suppliers are vetted before any commitment is made. Core responsibilities: apply the Procurement and Logistics Policy and prepare annual procurement and logistics plans; manage the full procurement cycle (purchase requests, RFQs and tenders, bid analysis, purchase orders, contracts); carry out supplier due diligence and sanctions screening and maintain the supplier database; manage contracts and framework agreements, including the office lease; organise logistics for trainings, workshops, events and domestic travel in coordination with the security focal point; maintain the asset and equipment register; ensure compliance and audit readiness; train and support implementing partners; and take part in working groups such as the Logistics Cluster in Ukraine. Role-specific tasks include setting up procurement and logistics processes in a new country office and travelling regularly across Ukraine.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain or logistics management, economics or a related field (professional procurement certification such as CIPS is an asset); 3-5 years of experience in procurement and/or logistics, preferably with humanitarian organisations or donor-funded projects; hands-on experience with procurement processes, supplier vetting and due diligence, and asset and inventory management; fluency in Ukrainian and professional working proficiency in English; knowledge of donor procurement rules (EU, Dutch MFA/RVO, UN) and Ukrainian requirements for supplier contracts and primary documents; solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. Competencies include integrity, attention to detail, planning and organisation, negotiation, proactive problem-solving and resilience in a fast-changing context.
