Precision Development (PxD) is seeking a dynamic, creative, and self-motivated Research / Senior Research Manager for a mission-critical role supporting its flagship program in the Philippines. The role works closely with researchers, government partners, and cross-functional teams to design, test, and scale evidence-based, inclusive digital agricultural solutions for smallholder farmers. The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Manila. Candidates must have existing authorization to work in the Philippines; PxD cannot sponsor visas. The level (Research Manager or Senior Research Manager) will be determined by experience and seniority.
Responsibilities:
- Research & Data: develop learning objectives and manage research activities (formative research, rapid user testing, experiments, A/B testing), ensuring rigor and adherence to policies, timelines and budgets; oversee field activities, data management and analysis; interpret internal and external evidence for PxD programs; ensure compliance with international research protocols and in-country research permissions; document research activities, results and rationale.
- Program & Stakeholder Management: collaborate with research and service delivery leadership to scope, design, pilot and scale evidence-backed digital agriculture services; manage relationships with government counterparts, implementing partners and other stakeholders; operate flexibly across research, program management and service delivery; contribute to funding proposals, reports and strategic planning.
- Mentorship & Communications: mentor Associate- and Manager-level staff; contribute to briefs, blogs, reports and presentations; support institutional knowledge management and learning.
Requirements:
- Degree in economics, agricultural economics, public policy or a closely related field.
- Experience on at least three large projects involving the design and management of rigorous research and/or evidence-based programs in the Philippines.
- Deep understanding of economics and randomized evaluations; ability to draw inferences from data.
- Strong knowledge of Stata, R or similar software; survey design experience with SurveyCTO/ODK or similar.
- Experience managing program/research staff and partnerships with implementing organizations.
- Understanding of research ethics for human subjects.
- Strong English writing and communication skills; working proficiency in Filipino/Tagalog.
- Willingness to travel to field sites; right to live and work in the Philippines.
