CABI is seeking a Junior Scientist for its Invasive Species Management (ISM) team in Ascot, Berkshire, UK. Salary: £26,346 - £30,995.

This position is ideally suited to a dynamic individual looking to apply and develop scientific skills in the field of biological control of invasive weeds, with an interest in international development. The position will primarily support ISM projects in the field of entomology, so a good understanding of entomology and invasive species is essential. There will also be scope to support pathology projects, so some knowledge of plant pathology/mycology/sterile working would be advantageous. The candidate will be a good team player but also able to work independently.

This is a junior scientific role in CABI's ISM team, supporting the delivery of a range of high-profile biological control projects, predominantly for the UK and continental Europe. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of scientific project work through rearing and releasing of biological control agents, gathering and analysing experimental scientific data and, where possible, contributing to experimental design. The role requires collaboration with staff within the ISM team as well as across other CABI business units.
