The Nature Manager supports the delivery of AIGCC's Nature and Land Use workstream, with a focus on advancing investor understanding and integration of nature-related risks and opportunities across Asia. The role leads priority projects and supports investor engagement on key nature and land use issues, particularly in high-impact sectors, and involves close collaboration with AIGCC's network of domestic and international institutional investors, as well as engagement with policymakers, industry stakeholders and partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Investor Capacity Building: Lead the planning and delivery of the Nature and Land Use Working Group and related masterclasses, facilitating peer exchange among investors to strengthen the integration of nature risks and stewardship practices, and translating insights into practical, actionable outputs for members.
- Policy Engagement: Lead the design and delivery of strategic engagements with policymakers and key stakeholders, including policy roundtables, to incorporate investor perspectives into nature and land use policy development in the region.
- Investor Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key global and domestic investors to identify gaps and AIGCC support needs on nature-related themes.
- Stewardship Research & Analysis: Lead and author sectoral and company-level research reports assessing the financial materiality of nature-related risks and opportunities in high-impact sectors across Asia.
- Program Delivery & Reporting: Support preparation of funder reports and program updates, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery aligned with project objectives.
- Content Development & Communications: Develop member briefings, research publications, case studies and other communications materials.
- External Representation: Represent AIGCC in external forums, events and stakeholder engagements.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Environmental or Sustainability Studies, or a related field; Master's, MBA or CFA is an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience across sectors such as food and agriculture, consulting, international organizations, think tanks or financial institutions, with expertise in nature-related investment research, sustainable finance, ESG or stakeholder engagement.
- Strong understanding of nature-related risks and land use issues in Asia.
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders, including policymakers and/or institutional investors in Southeast or East Asia.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects and coordinate across geographies and time zones.
- Strong analytical, research and writing skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English; additional Asian language skills are an advantage.
- Desirable: familiarity with RSPO, TNFD or related sustainability standards; experience in investor stewardship, ESG integration or sustainable finance.
