Landscape Alliance, hosted by CIFOR-ICRAF, is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Officer (consultancy) to join its Communications, Outreach, and Engagement (COE) team in Bogor, Indonesia. The consultant reports to the Global Social Media Coordinator and supports delivery of Landscape Alliance's social media activities across its global channels.
Responsibilities:
- Content creation and curation: develop, curate and schedule content for Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn and other platforms, primarily in English; support production of graphics, videos, infographics and animations; adapt content to platforms while following brand and editorial guidelines.
- Community engagement: monitor channels daily, respond to comments, messages and inquiries professionally, and identify opportunities to increase engagement.
- Campaign planning and execution: support social media campaigns, including paid activities such as sponsored posts and advertisements.
- Analytics and reporting: monitor performance metrics, prepare regular reports, identify trends and optimize content.
- Creative strategy: track emerging trends and tools, and suggest new formats and campaign ideas.
- Visual and multimedia support: basic photo and video support and editing, working with the design team.
- Strategic alignment: support implementation of the social media strategy and keep messaging consistent.
- Additional tasks: science writing, event coverage, live social media reporting and other COE duties.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
- At least 3-4 years of experience in social media management or digital communications, preferably in a nonprofit, research, development or environmental organization.
- Demonstrable knowledge of major social media platforms, trends and analytics tools.
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite; basic video editing skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Advantageous: paid social media campaign experience; international or multicultural work experience.
