Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster, alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations. HI is managing a humanitarian programme covering most of Syria's governorates, including rehabilitation support to health partners, explosive weapons risk education, non-technical surveys and clearance, community-based protection, and disaster preparedness.
The Technical Field Manager (TFM), also called Land Release Project Officer (LRPO), provides technical advice, daily support and field mentoring to national staff across High Threat Search and Clearance, BAC, TS, IED clearance, NTS and Land Release teams, and builds the capacity and technical knowledge of national HMA staff. Based primarily in Deir ez-Zor, with travel to and stays in remote areas where HI clearance teams operate.
Responsibilities: contribute to project planning and implementation; contribute to monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning; ensure project data management; coordinate project teams; contribute to external project communication; support emergency preparedness and response; provide technical guidance, ensuring compliance with international technical norms and standards, running staff training, and ensuring technical quality.
Requirements: certified EOD and IEDD qualifications; IMAS Level 3+ from an accredited school or organisation; IEDD from an accredited school or organisation; minimum 4 years' experience in Humanitarian Mine Action implementing land release policy; advanced written English (Arabic an asset); advanced Microsoft Office skills; excellent organisational and time management skills; intercultural communication and teamwork.
Contract: 12 months international contract starting October 2026, based in Deir ez-Zur, Syria. Benefits include social cover, pension scheme, medical coverage, repatriation insurance, per diem of €533 net/month, hardship allowance of €500 net/month, 25 days paid leave per year, and R&R of 5 days every 8 weeks. Unaccompanied position with collective housing provided by HI.
