Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Permanent, full time, hybrid working (2 days per week in office). Reporting to the Business Development Lead for Christian Aid's Multi-Country Clusters (MCC), the Business Development Manager - West and Central Africa region is responsible for securing new funding aligned to Christian Aid's strategy and thematic priorities. The role leads business development efforts across the MCC and expands the institutional funding portfolio, collaborating with the MCC Partnership and Strategy Lead and Partnership and Impact Funding teams to develop donor engagement strategies, build funding pipelines, identify opportunities, and establish partnerships. Responsibilities include meeting institutional income targets, building strategic partnerships with government agencies, multilateral organisations and foundations, developing high-quality funding proposals, ensuring compliance and quality assurance, and coordinating with donor contact points during contract delivery. Essential requirements: proven track record securing multi-million-pound grants for NGOs; substantial experience building strategic donor partnerships at global, regional and country levels with private sector, foundations, government and multilateral donors; proven track record developing multi-million pound budgets; advanced knowledge of donor funding landscape; expertise leading multi-discipline bid teams; experience in project design, monitoring and evaluation; background in humanitarian programming with UN, bilateral and NGO donors; fluent English. Desirable: bachelor's degree, donor certifications, knowledge of donor programming modalities and compliance frameworks, management experience including remote management.
