ChildFund seeks a Project Assistant, based in Nampula with frequent travel to project sites in Nacala Porto and Ilha de Moçambique, Mozambique. This is a temporary, 3-month position (October 12, 2026 - January 10, 2027) supporting the MUAVULUXE Project, a 24-month maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) initiative funded by La Caixa Foundation. Working under the Program Manager, the role focuses on Output 3: Strengthening Policy Dialogue and Community Health Data Use, coordinating with consortium partners (EHALE, ELOS, FAMED/UEM), district health authorities, and community structures. Responsibilities include supporting multisectoral district-level forums and technical working groups, facilitating coordination meetings between health authorities and civil society, mobilizing community participatory action groups, promoting community scorecards and social accountability tools, coordinating Dialogue Days and community-district engagement platforms, supporting communication and health messaging, and contributing to donor reporting and monitoring/learning processes. The role also involves safeguarding compliance and mainstreaming gender equality, social inclusion, and disability inclusion. Requirements: a technical diploma in Public Health, Social Sciences, Community Development, Health Promotion, or related field (Bachelor's an advantage); 1-3 years of experience in community engagement, health promotion, or advocacy programming, preferably in maternal/child health; experience with social accountability tools such as community scorecards is desirable; fluency in Portuguese with local language proficiency (Emakhuwa, Maconde) highly desirable; and at least 2 years of motorcycle riding experience with a valid permit.
