The Protection Officer – GBV Caseworker will lead field-level implementation of the Protection component in Ceel Buur, with primary responsibility for delivering confidential, survivor-centered GBV case management and supporting Protection Monitoring, referral systems, community-based Protection, safety audits and Protection mainstreaming. The Officer will serve as the main field-level Protection focal point for the SHF area-based response, providing technical guidance to the General Protection Assistant and community/outreach structures on safe identification and referral, and coordinating with service providers and humanitarian actors. GBV case management is undertaken under regular technical supervision from the Country GBV Coordinator. Duties include direct survivor-centered GBV case management (intake, safety planning, referrals, follow-up, closure), managing complex/high-risk cases, case-file quality assurance, maintaining referral pathways (RMS), leading Protection Monitoring in Ceel Buur, conducting safety/accessibility audits and Mobile Protection Desks, supporting community-based Protection mechanisms and PSEA, and maintaining secure GBV case files. Required: minimum 3 years relevant Protection experience including 2 years recent hands-on GBV case management in humanitarian/displacement/conflict settings; demonstrated ability to independently manage the full GBV case-management cycle; strong understanding of GBV guiding principles, survivor-centred practice, CMR/MHPSS referral pathways, confidentiality and safeguarding; experience in broader Protection programming; strong documentation and communication skills; familiarity with GBVIMS/ActivityInfo is an asset. Contract length: 6 months, possibility of extension. Start date: September 2026. Reporting to: Protection Team Leader. Open to female candidates only.
