One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers across nine African countries to make their farms more productive, providing farm supplies, tree seedlings, credit, and agronomic training. We are seeking an exceptional strategist and communicator to serve as Impact Division Chief of Staff, supporting the Chief Impact Officer (CIO) in advancing the organization's Global Impact Strategy. Key responsibilities: improve coordination across Impact Division workstreams through goal setting, OKR tracking, and transparent communication; increase the reach and effectiveness of Impact Division leadership by conducting prioritization reviews, moving complex projects forward as the CIO's proxy, and representing the Division externally with partners; lead strategic research, communications, or operational initiatives that are important to organizational leadership but sit outside day-to-day team purview, such as impact-focused campaigns, new technology or partnership research, and team-building initiatives; and temporarily fill critical leadership gaps as needed. Qualifications: a university degree in Agriculture or a related field (Ecology, Environmental Science, Ag Economics); genuine passion for improving farmer livelihoods; strong analytical skills; excellent verbal and written communication across technical and non-technical audiences with English fluency required (Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, or French a plus); demonstrated leadership and collaboration experience; and strong organizational skills to manage diverse, concurrent initiatives. Benefits include health insurance, housing, and comprehensive benefits, with work permit support available.
