The Global Fund aims to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria as epidemics, and plays a leading role in global markets for medicines and technologies that prevent, diagnose, and treat these diseases. The Sourcing team is responsible for all procurement activities across spending categories, including health and non-health products and services, with combined annual spend exceeding US$2 billion, executing strategic category management, supplier engagement, and value-based contracting.
Under the supervision of the Manager, Health Technologies Sourcing, and working closely with Health Technologies Specialists, the Associate Specialist supports the execution of category strategies across diagnostics and health technologies, serving as a key operational focal point for developing category strategies, supplier allocation, contract implementation, supplier performance monitoring, market intelligence, category analytics and sourcing process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support design, development, and implementation of product category strategies and global tendering
- Support operational implementation of category strategies, tender outcomes, contracts, allocations, and performance
- Support delivery and monitoring of product category savings targets
- Support supplier performance management against agreed KPIs, coordinating with manufacturers and Procurement Service Agents
- Own Health Technologies category data management, perform data analysis, identify risks, develop visualizations
- Deliver timely and high-quality category management reporting, maintain supplier allocation algorithm
- Support implementation of the NextGen Market Shaping Framework and direct sourcing opportunities
- Act as focal point for sourcing activities managed by the Procurement Services Agent
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health, science, or business field; additional degree in public health, sustainability, or MBA desirable; professional certifications in Project/Supply Chain/Procurement/Contract Management/Negotiation desirable.
Experience: Proven working experience in procurement and supply chain management in public and/or private sector; demonstrated data analytical experience in health product sourcing/tendering/supplier performance management/reporting; experience in database and digital contracting systems.
Languages: Excellent knowledge of English, preferably good working knowledge of French.
