Overview of position: Under the overall guidance of the DTM Programme Officer, the technical supervision of the Senior Programme Associate / Project Assistant (Operations) and the direct supervision of the Team Leader, the Data Enumerator will be accountable and responsible for collecting data as part of DTM mobility tracking, registration, flow monitoring points, surveys and other tools and tasks, working closely with field teams and partners in the assigned area(s).
Role objectives:
- Collect data and support relevant partners on data collection based on the DTM methodology and tools, following a pre-established schedule.
- Maintain high-grade quality work and accountability during data collection, interviews and entries by ensuring integrity and credibility.
- Monitor and evaluate DTM operations in the field and identify areas for improvement and enhanced efficiency.
- Triangulate collected data based on DTM methodology with relevant partners.
- Send information collected in the field to the Team Leader / Project Assistant promptly and according to DTM programme standards.
- Carry out rapid registration, other assessments and surveys where needed.
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical considerations in line with the client's data protection principles and the humanitarian principle of do no harm.
- Collaborate with DTM partners and client staff in the field to achieve shared goals.
Requirements: University degree in a relevant discipline with 1 year of experience, or a diploma in a relevant discipline with 2 years of experience (essential). Minimum 2 years of demonstrable relevant experience in data collection and in the humanitarian field (essential), including experience with an NGO or INGO. Minimum 2 years of experience in West Africa (essential). Fluency in English and any local language(s) (essential). Strong integrity, sound judgement, teamwork and communication skills required; the role has no managerial responsibility.
