Job position: Inclusive Leadership Senior Officer. Job title and functional level: Senior Officer - Level 9. Department: Confederation Development. Line Manager: Director of Confederation Development. Work Place: CI General Secretariat - Palazzo San Callisto, Rome.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Inclusive leadership: Coordinate and oversee a Confederation-wide strategy on inclusive leadership based on the pillars of people (the person at the centre, with particular focus on women and youth), policies, and enhancing an organisational inclusion culture that facilitates participation; promote and oversee cross-cutting and inter-department initiatives on inclusiveness, particularly women's and youth participation and leadership, from grassroots to governance; enhance collaboration with relevant Holy See Dicasteries, other international organisations, universities and institutes of higher education; develop policies and official Confederation documents enhancing inclusive leadership in line with Caritas' values and mission; support the Confederation's work on Leadership Standards (e.g. Leadership Charter dissemination, training modules/sessions for leaders); facilitate dialogue with internal and external stakeholders; contribute to training, workshops and the incorporation of the principle of inclusion in assessment tools, strengthening capacity of Caritas Member Organisations and Regions.
Women's Participation, Leadership and Empowerment: Coordinate the overall work on enhancing women's participation, leadership and empowerment; develop/revise and implement the Confederation's strategy as part of the CI Strategic Framework; support working structures related to women (task forces, working groups); sensitize stakeholders and increase visibility of the topic; develop workshops, training modules and formation initiatives; strengthen women's regional focal points/groups; gather, process and analyse data on women's participation at national, regional and global levels and report to governance.
Youth Inclusion, Leadership and Empowerment: Develop, revise and oversee the long-term strategy on youth inclusion, leadership and empowerment according to the CI Strategic Framework; ensure youth inclusion is integrated transversally across Confederation activities based on policy development, capacity strengthening, targeted training, leadership pathways and mobilisation of the network of youth professionals and volunteers; work closely with and oversee the CI Youth Officer, including the biennial onboarding and knowledge transfer for the incoming Youth Officer.
Coordination: Ensure activities align with the operational plan and budget; oversee the work of the Youth Officer; contribute to the overall work of the Confederation Development Department.
PROFILE
University degree(s) in humanitarian, development, international relations, social sciences, faith-based contexts or other relevant field(s); at least 7 years of professional experience including an active role in strategy development, facilitation, coordination and/or programme management; working proficiency in written and oral English, knowledge of French, Spanish and/or Italian a strong asset; knowledge and experience in inclusiveness, equality and leadership promotion; experience implementing/coordinating women's and youth programmes a strong asset; knowledge of Church and Caritas structures an asset; knowledge of research methods, data analysis and reporting; strong analytical, monitoring, evaluation and reporting skills; capacity to work in a diverse, multicultural team; flexibility, discretion and availability to travel at short notice; demonstrated ability to supervise and support staff; proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Zoom); demonstrable empathy and respect for the faith and values of the Catholic Church and commitment to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
