The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is on a mission to create a world where no mother, child or family is devastated by HIV and AIDS.
The Clinical Doctor, Site Project Coordinator will support the management of the HIV project and improve the delivery of clinical HIV services in supported Health Facilities in the Littoral Region by offering a package of integrated HIV care and treatment services. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of the project in a supported health facility. The role requires a strong background in project coordination, with a focus on project planning, project leadership, and project scheduling. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, conflict management, and cost control skills, with proficiency in project management tools, ensuring project activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities (under the general supervision of the Service Delivery Manager):
Management activities (50%): Develop and submit a budgeted monthly work plan in line with the project work plan, showing planned activities, results, timelines, targets and verification indicators; ensure implementation of the monthly work plan within budget; ensure effective collaboration with the multidisciplinary team on site; organize in-service training sessions with the Cluster Project Lead; conduct and facilitate formative supervision and ongoing training for health care providers to ensure quality of services along the HIV/AIDS care cascade; hold weekly and monthly coordination meetings to review performance and identify solutions; organize monthly feedback meetings with the Hospital Director and Hospital Medical Advisor; monitor and evaluate the data collection and reporting system and health facility HIV/AIDS care and treatment performance; develop and submit monthly activity and expense reports.
Clinical activities (50%): Support implementation of national HIV/AIDS programme guidelines, including antiretroviral treatment and treatment of advanced HIV infection; support Index Case testing focused on sexual contacts of newly diagnosed HIV patients and those with high viral load; ensure diagnosis and management of treatment failure, TB/HIV co-infections, advanced HIV infection, and initiation of second- or third-line antiretroviral therapy; provide patient-centred care using sound judgment and collaboration with the care team; ensure continuous training and mentoring of the multidisciplinary medical/paramedical team.
Qualifications: Medical degree with at least 7 years of experience in the clinical management of HIV patients. Registration with the National Order of Physicians of Cameroon is mandatory. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a health services management position in a hospital managing an active patient caseload of 2,500+. Training in project management would be an asset. Very good command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is mandatory. Fluency in French is a key requirement and working knowledge of English is an advantage. Strong work ethic, ability and willingness to work under pressure, ability to work in a team and willingness to learn. Contract position; subject to the availability of donor funding.
