The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Programme Officer, Project Coordination.
Under the supervision of the Director of Infrastructure, the Programme Officer Project Coordination will coordinate day-to-day implementation of the Africa RISE-Regional Acceleration Project (RISE-RAP) so that regional activities, country support, and partner inputs are timely, high-quality, and compliant, and contribute measurably to RAP's PDO to strengthen country capacity to accelerate irrigation-related policies and investments. The coordinator also consolidates the annual/quarterly workplan and budget and maintains a live implementation plan (with dependencies across components) to anticipate issues, resolve bottlenecks, and keep delivery aligned with compliance requirements.
Required Skills and Competencies: Excellent written and oral communication, stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills; proficiency in computer applications, MS Office and SAP ERP; ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions; able to work under minimal supervision, be proactive, take initiative and have sound judgment; high level of accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness; maintain confidentiality at the highest level at all times; creative thinking and problem-solving skills; good analytical, planning and organisational skills.
Education and Experience: A minimum of a Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Project Management, Development Studies, Education or Irrigation Engineering with at least two (2) years of progressive experience in programme/project management within an international, regional or national organisation; OR a Bachelor's degree in the same fields with at least four (4) years of progressive work experience in programme/project management within an international, regional or national organisation. Project Management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 will be an advantage.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder and multi-country projects funded by development partners, preferably including DFIs or similar institutions; proven coordination and team-management skills, including experience working with multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams; strong knowledge of African agricultural transformation, climate resilience, irrigation development and regional integration processes; demonstrated experience working with African Union (AU) agencies, Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and other international organizations/development partners, including coordination across multiple stakeholders.
Remuneration: Indicative basic salary of US$35,044.83 per annum plus other entitlements, e.g. Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), housing allowance (US$21,832.88 per annum) and gratuity (15% of gross salary), in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
