Youth Consultant - UNCCD Youth Engagement Research

Applications are open for youth consultants to assist the UNCCD Youth Caucus in evaluating how young people are engaged in implementing the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. The purpose of this initiative is to analyze the extent and quality of youth participation in UNCCD activities, assess the effectiveness of the Youth Engagement Strategy, identify successful practices and lessons learned, and contribute to a report that will be presented to the Conference of the Parties in accordance with Decision 5/COP 16.

Selected consultants will support a range of research and coordination tasks. These responsibilities may include assisting in the design and distribution of surveys, helping organize and facilitate consultations, conducting interviews and focus group discussions, providing rapporteur support during meetings, and contributing to the drafting of the final report. This is a short-term consultancy expected to run from March to June 2026. The role is paid, and additional information about workload and compensation will be provided to shortlisted applicants.

Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in data collection, analysis, visualization, and synthesis
- Familiarity with youth participation within UNCCD or similar international processes (considered an advantage)
- Strong research and writing skills, supported by work samples that highlight relevant experience
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to contribute ideas and work effectively within a team
