Major Purpose
Under the general direction and supervision of the Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Events, the Officer participates in the development and implementation of the annual outreach strategy, providing marketing insight and services in support of FCM's Green Municipal Fund. The main responsibility of this role will be to scope out, develop, and implement sponsorship agreements to best serve GMF annual financial targets and objectives.
The Officer, Partnerships & Events Marketing leads and contributes to the development of communications and marketing products and activities such as digital advertisements, digital communications, videos, case studies, reports, presentation materials, digital images, and other resources, in both official languages, in collaboration with the communications team.
The Officer, Partnerships & Events Marketing contributes to the development, monitoring, and evaluation of Outreach and marketing strategies, plans, and trends as it pertains to sponsorship agreements and Outreach activities. They also support the assessment of communications activities and recommends measures, processes, and tools for quality assurance, effective dissemination of resources, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
* Develops Outreach strategies to promote program initiatives, including funding products, knowledge resources, and events, advises the Manager and Steering Committee, and implements and evaluates strategies throughout the year.
* Analyzes event opportunities across Canada to determine which ones will generate greatest return on investment and meets with municipal and sector associations to discuss presentation and other visibility opportunities.
* Monitors funding application status and results and suggests modifications to Outreach strategies to pivot rapidly to meet moving objectives across all GMF funding products.
* Submit and track presentation proposals to increase GMF's thought leadership across Canada.
* Negotiates sponsorship opportunities with key organizations and develops agreements that meet GMF programs' goals.
* Evaluates impact of sponsorship agreements and all promotional activities. Gather analytics and write ROI reports.
* Develops, keeps updated and reviews Outreach PowerPoint presentations, including the funded project slides.
* Creates and/or edits copy for advertising, articles for external magazines and newsletters, and other digital content in both French and English.
* Stays updated on new and upcoming marketing and trade show practices and shares ideas with Manager.
* Develop tools and processes to assess the quality of opportunities and ensure consistency of decision-making.
* Coordinates the production of communications tools (e.g., trade show booth & banners, promotional material, e-bulletins, reports, presentations, videos) from concept, design, writing, editing, and translation through to production, quality assurance, and publication.
* Gathers analytics on webinars/presentation, events and reach of sponsorships to ensure continuous improvement in the development and dissemination of program information and resources.
* Decides which funded projects are promoted in PowerPoint presentations and at tradeshows based on available data and on colleagues' feedback.
* Work with the communications team for external-facing branded materials.
* May be called upon to participate in cross-functional teamwork.
* Collects events data from the Capacity Development events/webinars/trainings.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills
* Post-secondary education in a communications/Marketing or related field such as Public Relations, business development, Communications, Marketing or similar.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a professional communications or marketing role.
* Strong knowledge in the areas of communications project management, writing and editing.
* Strong knowledge of best practices and experience in developing digital communications products, writing for the web, blogs, and social media.
* Attention to detail and an eye for quality with the ability to distill complex information into simple, concise, effective, and client-focused messages.
* Knowledge of usability, search engine optimization, content strategy and content marketing best practices an asset.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
* Knowledge of financial services, municipal, federal government, or environmentally sustainable development.
* Strong political acumen and tact.
* Excellent planning and priority management skills.
* Strong adaptability and problem-solving skills.
* Strong customer service orientation.
* Excellent oral and written capacity in English and French is mandatory.
