We work with around 7,000 partner communities, or barangays across the country, delivering programs on (PIER) Protection from Violence, Inclusive Health, Education to Economic Empowerment, and Resilience and Humanitarian.

We have 30,000 sponsored children and 2.5 million program participants, co-creating lasting impact, especially for girls.

About the Project

Plan International Pilipinas, with support from UNICEF, will implement the Improving the Learning Outcomes of K 6 Learners in BARMM project. The project supports early childhood (up to 8 years old) and basic education (up to Grade 6) through learning recovery activities, teacher training, and quality teaching materials, working closely with communities and local education partners.

About the Role

The Project Officer (PO) works closely with communities, schools, and local partners to help improve the learning of children from Kindergarten to Grade 6.

This role is hands on and field based. You will help organize communities, support teacher trainings, assist in learning recovery and remediation activities, monitor learning progress, and make sure learning materials reach schools and children who need them.

The PO ensures that all activities are child safe, inclusive, and gender responsive, following ECCD, inclusive education, and safeguarding standards.

What You Will Do

• Work with community leaders, parents, and teachers to understand local education needs
• Help organize communities and schools for project activities
• Support teacher trainings and school based learning recovery or remediation sessions
• Assist in distributing and tracking learning materials
• Regularly visit schools and communities to monitor activities and progress
• Ensure child safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusion in all activities
• Help document field activities, stories, and good practices
• Support LGUs and partner groups in education related campaigns and advocacy
• Help strengthen community groups through coaching, mentoring, and simple trainings

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related fields
• At least 3 years of experience in community work, basic education, early childhood education, or related development projects
• Experience working directly with communities, schools, children, and youth
• Comfortable using participatory and child friendly approaches in the field
• Basic knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusive education
• Willing to do regular fieldwork and coordinate with local partners

• Basic Digital Skills: Able to use a computer or mobile device for simple reports and coordination
• Communication: Can explain ideas clearly and work well with community members, teachers, and LGUs
• Community Work: Able to mobilize community groups and support collective actions for children and education

Important Note

This position is an anticipatory hire and is subject to the approval and finalization of grant funding.
