About the Job
We are looking for a motivated, fast-learning and dynamic individual to support the day-to-day operations of the BCI Branch in Uzbekistan, to deliver all daily operations and admin support for the rapidly expanding country office in Tashkent.
The Operations Officer supports the effective running of the Branch by providing reliable administrative, logistical, and operational assistance. By helping with travel arrangements, procurement, office administration, and coordination with local service providers, the role ensures that daily operations function smoothly and in line with BCI's procedures.
The post-holder will report directly to the Head of the BCI Branch in Uzbekistan and will also receive technical leadership and support from the Finance & Services function and the Operations team in a matrix reporting structure.

The Challenge
Looking ahead to 2030, we are targeting reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, big cuts in synthetic pesticide use, improve soil health across our network, improve farm income and support women's empowerment among farmers and farm workers.
Responsibilities
In the area of Operations & Office Management, you will be responsible for:
· Ensure the Tashkent office is safe, clean, fully stocked, and fit for purpose, coordinating with relevant service providers as required.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation related to office operations, assets, travel, and procurement in line with BCI policies and audit standards.
· Coordinate logistics for stakeholder events in Uzbekistan, including bilateral meetings, workshops, trainings, and other activities (venue booking, catering, transport, photography, and related services).
· Oversee travel arrangements for international visitors to Uzbekistan, including visa support, accommodation, local transportation, and required government approvals.
In the area of Travel, Events & Logistics Coordination, you will be responsible for:
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local suppliers (e.g. hotels, transport providers, meeting venues, caterers, photographers) to support operational and event needs.
· Coordinate logistics for stakeholder events in Uzbekistan, including bilateral meetings, workshops, trainings, and other activities (venue booking, catering, transport, photography, and related services).
In the area of Procurement, Compliance & Strategic Support, you will be responsible for:
· Support the Branch team and Global Procurement team in addressing procurement-related queries in Uzbekistan, ensuring compliance with organisational procurement policies and procedures.
· Oversee and manage payments made through the corporate card for office operations and staff business travel, including railway, air, and other related expenses.
· Work closely with the Branch team to ensure timely notification of events to the Ministry of Justice in accordance with local regulations.
· Support the Finance Coordinator in the preparation and submission of annual reporting to the Ministry of Justice.
Experience
the following skills, knowledge, and experience are essential:
Education & Experience:
* University degree, or equivalent higher education qualification, in a relevant field.
* At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
* Ability to work independently and to take initiative
Skills & Competencies:
* Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as attention to detail
* Demonstrated ability to learn new things and apply existing skills and knowledge to new contexts
* Excellent organisational skills, capacity to multi-task and handle a set of different priorities
* Change Agility: Responds proactively to shifting needs and organisational change.
* Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 package (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) or evidence of picking up IT programmes and systems quickly
* Proficient English (written and verbal): BCI's language of operation is English
* Proficient in Uzbek/Russian
