Business Development Manager – Social and Behavioural Change
Location: Based in a MAGENTA hub (Mexico City, Nairobi, Amman or Bangkok) or Brussels, Belgium

Duration: 12 months, renewable
Type: Fixed Term, Long Term Contractor
Remuneration: 250 USD per day, up to 220 days a year
In this role, you will be a key contributor of new business at MAGENTA. You’ll lead winning bids and proposals, telling MAGENTA’s story in a clear and compelling way and building lasting relationships with clients and partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The SBC Business Development Manager will report to the Chief Operations Officer. Typical tasks include:
• Lead the development of winning proposals from start to finish (proposal championing), including technical design and commercial strategy
• Identify and build relationships with relevant partners and build dedicated team for winning proposals
• Build relationships with donors and clients
• Conduct regular market research to identify new business and growth opportunities for MAGENTA
• Drive MAGENTA’s marketing efforts, including maintaining all MAGENTA databases and marketing collaterals up to date
REQUIREMENTS
• Relevant degree from a top tier university required; Masters preferred
• 7 to 10 years professional experience with at least 5 years experience leading business development and proposal processes for institutional donors, with a proven track record in fundraising and leading successful bids
• Proven experience leading end-to-end proposal development (capture ? consortium building ? technical design ? budget ? submission) including acting as proposal lead or coordinator on successful bids
• Strong expertise with the EU and European bilateral donors, including GIZ, Enabel, Expertise France, AFD, BMZ, etc. with a clear understanding of their procurement processes, compliance requirements and evaluation criteria
• Advanced understanding of commercial proposal development including pricing strategies, partner budget negotiations, cost eligibility and ensuring compliance with donors financial rules (MAGENTA is a for profit consultancy)
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing consortia in multiple geographies
• Substantial knowledge of SBC, community engagement or strategic communications programming and donors regulations;
• Ability to work effectively, respectfully and successfully with governments, clients, partners and other stakeholders in complex settings;
• Excellent written and spoken English and French or Spanish is required
• Technological and software fluency, include Office 365, Canva and Sales CRM
