Verité is a growing, award-winning non-profit organization that illuminates and addresses serious human rights and labor rights violations in factories, farms, and other workplaces around the world. We serve private sector and public-sector clients by building their internal understanding of the labor rights problems they face in their supply chains and operations and enhancing their skills to solve those problems.
Responsibilities :
• Review results of previously conducted gender analyses for the Protecting Migrant Workers in the West African Agricultural Sector project and build gender-responsive and gender-transformative project strategies to address research findings on gender-related vulnerabilities among migrants in the cashew sectors of Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria
• Provide technical guidance, resources, and tools on integrating gender responsiveness in project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
• Support the development of gender-sensitive tools and resources to facilitate knowledge sharing and learning
• Provide core support for outreach and collaboration with migrant workers, women-led grassroots organizations in the regions, and other relevant local and national stakeholders in project areas
• Design and deliver training programs and workshops to enhance stakeholder understanding of migrant-related gender issues
• Develop and implement gender-sensitive Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) frameworks to assess the impact of interventions and track progress towards goals
• Support project Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) as it relates to gender and related issues
• Provide regular reports on gender-related indicators and recommend corrective actions as needed
• Conduct regular visits to cashew growing areas of project implementation within and out of Côte d’Ivoire
Required Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in gender studies or equivalent in social sciences
• Dedicated professional expertise and experience in gender-responsive and gendertransformative and intersectionality programming (at least 7-10 years), including substantive experience conducting gender analyses and integrating robust gender engagement in program design and implementation
• Strong knowledge of gender analysis methodologies, gender mainstreaming approaches, and gender-responsive and gender-transformative program models, with the ability to share 3 gender analyses performed for previous projects
• Experience working in agricultural commodities, preferably the cashew sector or similar global agricultural supply chains
• Familiarity with community mobilization and sensitization/training in agricultural contexts
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including government actors, community organizations and others
• Experience working on donor-funded projects is an added advantage
• Familiarity with the United Nation’s Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) is an added advantage
• Strong organizational skills, including experience planning and coordinating trainings, workshops and other events
• Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively in team settings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in dynamic environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (World, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French
