Assistant Policy and External Relations
The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially offered on a two-year fixed-term contract, with good prospects for extension. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.
As an Assistant in the Policy Department, you will provide comprehensive support to the team in coordination, organization, and administrative tasks. In this role, you will help ensure seamless internal processes and enhance communication both within the organization and with external partners.
Your responsibilities:
• Drafting, editing, and finalizing correspondence, texts, briefings, and minutes in German and English, including proofreading and linguistic editing
• Tracking internal processes, deadlines, and appointments, as well as supporting the monitoring and preparation of political processes and events
• Organizational and content-related preparation and follow-up of internal meetings, including minute-taking and maintenance of the team calendar
• Maintaining and updating contact databases and distribution lists, including coordinating communication with political stakeholders and partner organizations
• Supporting internal reporting and coordination processes
• Assisting with invoice coding, financial administration, and other administrative processes
• Ensuring the publication of relevant information from the unit on the intranet, including maintaining the respective intranet pages
Your profile:
• Several years of relevant professional experience in administrative, organizational, and coordination roles, ideally in the context of international cooperation or politics
• Strong coordination and organizational skills, including the ability to work under tight deadlines
• Very good knowledge of MS Office (especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), as well as practical experience with MS Teams and Miro
• You recognize the growing importance of data in your field and are motivated to expand your knowledge and skills to integrate data-driven approaches into your work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German, as well as very good command of English
