Finance Director
The Finance Director will oversee the financial administration of the organization. (S)he will ensure accuracy on financial documentation, in coordination with other members of the finance team, manage financial controls, and oversee reporting and auditing.
We are looking for an individual with a passion for making a difference in the lives of religious minorities recovering from genocide who believes in the importance and value of civil society organizations, trauma treatment, justice and accountability, and women’s rights. The Finance Director will report to the Executive Director and will manage 3-4 HQ finance team members and 3-4 field finance team members. (S)he will be expected to work remotely.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform several functions:
- Oversee FYF USA and FYF NL audits
- Oversee the financial aspects of grant management and donor reporting
- Manage senior and junior team members
- Oversee financial authorizations
- Work with programs team on program budget development
- Oversee budget monitoring across all projects
- Oversee cash flow across FYF USA, FYF NL, and Iraq bank account
- Oversee pipelines and internal transfers
- Oversee QuickBooks entries
- Oversee process of reviewing and approving salary payment forms
- Work with the Executive Director to oversee all financial matters
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, development finance, or related field is an advantage. Master’s degree and/or accounting designation preferred.
- Five to nine years of finance administration experience in development or humanitarian programs.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of QBO accounting software.
- A good understanding of the overall project cycle management. This should include a good understanding of working with donor guidelines and following up on program compliance.
- Demonstrated experience administering State Department or USAID grants, including full understanding of financial aspects of US grant regulations.
- Proven capabilities in integrity and strong attention to detail are required, with the ability to work independently and with a diverse team, communicate effectively with individuals from different backgrounds, and contribute to overall team capacity building.
- Fluency in English and the ability to write documents, reports, and present information in English is required.
Base of Operations: Remote.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Daily Routine: The Finance Director will be overseen by the Executive Director. (S)he will be expected to work 40 hours / week. FYF grants paid holidays in country of residence as well as paid vacation and sick days.
Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with experience.
