Position: Manager, Finance & Administration
Who reports to: Director, WCS Argentina
With dotted line to VP/Controller & CFO of Global Conservation
Supervises: Team of 5 people (accounting, administration, logistics and talents)
Location: Buenos Aires – Argentina
Program: Argentina - Global Conservation – Southern Cone and Patagonia
Scope: Argentina

Mission of the position:
To guarantee the financial sustainability, operational efficiency and institutional compliance of WCS Argentina, through strategic, transparent management aligned with global standards, which strengthens decision-making and enhances the impact of conservation actions. The position acts as a key partner to the Country Director, integrating financial planning, administrative management, and organizational development to ensure efficient and responsible use of resources, compliance with legal and donor requirements, and effective articulation with the global headquarters.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the comprehensive management of Administration and Finance, including financial, administrative and human resources processes at the country level.
- Ensure the financial sustainability of the program through the planning, preparation and monitoring of budgets, projections and cash flow.
- Implement and strengthen internal control systems, policies, and procedures that ensure financial integrity, transparency, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor budget execution and the use of funds, generating reliable and timely information for decision-making and resource optimization.
- Ensure compliance with national legal regulations and financial and administrative requirements of donors and global headquarters.
- Lead the accounting processes, financial closings, reports and audits, ensuring the quality, consistency and timeliness of financial information.
- Supervise the financial management of contracts, sub-awards, and agreements with third parties, including risk assessment and compliance with institutional standards.
- Coordinate the operational relationship with the New York headquarters and regional teams, ensuring the correct articulation of processes, reports and corporate requirements.
- Lead human resources management in coordination with the Country Director, including compensation, benefits, labor compliance, and team capacity building.
- Promote a positive, equitable and inclusive work environment, aligned with WCS's global policies.
- Oversee the overall administration and logistics of the program, including office management, procurement, inventories, and fleet.
Qualification Requirements
Requirements:
Training:
- Accountant, Auditor, Business Administration or related professional.
- Master of Finance/MBA or equivalent (preferred)
Knowledge:
- Financial and administrative management
- Argentine tax procedures.
- Labor and social security laws in Argentina.
Experience in:
- At least 10 years of demonstrable relevant work experience (requirement).
- At least 5 years of experience in similar positions (preferred).
- Experience in the financial area of civil society organizations (preferred).
Language:
- Spanish: Native
- English: Advanced oral and written
Skills:
- Interpersonal and problem-solving.
- Proactivity and independence with great attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to perform well in teams by interacting with others in a positive, respectful, and constructive manner.
- Fluent and effective communication, both written and verbal.
- Availability to travel as needed, covering both the region and occasionally other continents. In addition, participation in meetings with donors or techniques is expected as required or possible.
