The Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) is a non-profit development organization supporting innovative agribusiness and renewable energy enterprises to reduce rural poverty, build climate-resilient communities and create jobs. Under the Women ADAPT project (funded by the GEF Least Developed Countries Fund, implemented by UNIDO and executed by AECF in Benin and Burkina Faso), AECF is seeking a qualified firm or consortium to manage the full training cycle on climate-smart agriculture (CSA), climate risk management and financial literacy.
Scope of work: Step 1 is the needs assessment, design and technical validation of a modular, gender-responsive, field-ready CSA curriculum, tailored to value chains such as shea, rice, cassava, soybean, poultry and pineapple. Step 2 is delivery of the validated training to beneficiaries in Benin and Burkina Faso.
Key deliverables: inception report with rapid training-needs and climate-risk assessment; a complete training package in French (facilitator manuals, participant materials, slide decks, visual aids, pre/post assessment tools, action-planning templates, financial literacy and safeguards content); technical validation and pre-testing with women end-users; translation into at least one local language per country, checked by a native speaker with agricultural knowledge; digital micro-content and a message bank for the Women ADAPT knowledge hub and SMS/voice channels; at least eight workshops (minimum four per country) reaching at least 500 direct trainees, with at least 50% women and 20% youth; a cascade mechanism; and a sustainability and handover plan. The assignment runs over roughly 13 months. Target participants are women-led MSMEs, cooperatives, women smallholder farmers, agronomists, extension workers and microfinance institution officers supported through AECF's Investing in Women in Benin and Burkina Faso programme.
