Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian and development organisation working in over 45 countries to save and transform the lives of some of the world's most vulnerable people. It is seeking five separate Supporter Relations Assistants to join Islamic Relief UK (IRUK), based in Waterloo, London. Contract: fixed term, full time. Salary: £23,093 plus £4,000 London weighting.
About the role: The Supporter Relations Assistant is a key member of the Supporter Relations Unit and one of the first points of contact for supporters and members of the public. You will provide excellent customer service by telephone, email, post and digital enquiry platforms, ensuring every supporter has a professional, timely and positive experience. You will process donations, maintain accurate supporter records, manage fundraising data and ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR requirements, working with the Raiser's Edge database and other fundraising systems. The role also supports major fundraising campaigns and emergency appeals, including Ramadan, Qurbani, orphan sponsorship campaigns and humanitarian emergencies, through administration, donor stewardship, data management and supporter engagement.
The successful candidate will have: experience in a customer service, supporter care, administration or data-processing role; experience working with databases and maintaining accurate records; excellent customer service skills; strong administrative and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail; fast and accurate data entry; good numeracy skills and the ability to handle financial information accurately; excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience handling sensitive information confidentially; good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel; the ability to prioritise workloads, multitask and work to deadlines; knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles; the ability to work independently and in a team; and a strong empathy with the aims, values and mission of Islamic Relief Worldwide.
Desirable: experience in a charity, fundraising or supporter relations environment; experience with Raiser's Edge or a similar CRM; experience supporting or supervising volunteers; understanding of fundraising operations and donor stewardship.
