The role is permanent (CDI), full-time, national-level, within the Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) team, and reports to the Director of Programme Development and Quality. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Purpose: The post-holder will use their understanding of the context, technical expertise and relationship-building skills to define and deliver Save the Children's strategic ambition on child protection and to advance gender equality in Mali. They will lead strategy development and the technical design and implementation of high-quality programmes in both emergency and development contexts, grounded in an intersectional analysis of gender and power. - Promote a systems-strengthening approach to child protection and gender equality, in partnership with governments and local actors, aiming for impact, scale and sustainability.
- Supervise and support implementation teams; work with MEAL colleagues on gender and power analysis and quality monitoring using participatory, child-friendly and gender-transformative methods; ensure programmes are safe and do no harm.
- Conduct field visits, capture learning and share lessons within the country office and with the regional and global Save the Children community.
- Support humanitarian colleagues with emergency preparedness, sector assessments and the design and delivery of emergency response; provide technical protection leadership and represent Save the Children in the protection, GBV and gender coordination clusters and working groups.
- Contribute to survivor-centred safeguarding responses (COSFA), including mapping of victim support services, strengthening reporting mechanisms and training safeguarding focal points.
The role is child-safeguarding Level 3, involving frequent or intensive contact with children. Salary is competitive.
