The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has been present in the Central African Republic since 2014 and continues to deliver programmes in a reduced but strategic footprint (ICLA, Education, Shelter, WASH, Protection from Violence). From 2027 NRC CAR will move to an integrated operational presence under the Cameroon country office. NRC is recruiting an Education Coordinator to support field operations from the Bouar area office, providing technical support for the development of the Education core competency programme.

Responsibilities (summarised from the French posting):
- Line-manage the Education staff at the area office and apply NRC policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the Education programme strategy and project proposals, with analysis of needs and unmet gaps.
- Manage and implement the Education project portfolio (activities, budget, documentation) in line with donor requirements and high technical quality.
- Report regularly to the Area Programme Manager and the Education Programme Development Manager.
- Ensure projects target the people with the greatest protection needs; build the capacity of project staff and local partners.
- Ensure the pedagogical design and quality of training content and workshops.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of National Education standards, INEE minimum standards, and the Education Cluster guidelines and Humanitarian Response Plan.
- Oversee data collection and quality control in NRC monitoring tools (GORS, Project Tracker, MEL matrices); document case studies, success stories and lessons learned.
- Integrate cross-cutting issues (protection, gender, environment); represent NRC in cluster and sector coordination forums; advocate for the rights of IDPs and returnees.

Qualifications:
- University degree (BAC+4/5) in education, social sciences, development or a related field.
- At least 5 years' experience implementing and coordinating education in emergencies projects.
- Knowledge of the humanitarian context in CAR and experience working with local NGO partners.
- Fluent French and English; knowledge of Sango is an asset; BLP psychosocial approach is an asset.
- Ability to work in high-risk areas and in a multicultural organisation.

Offer: 12-month contract renewable subject to funding; based in Bouar with 75% field travel; NRC CAR Grade 7 step 1; desired start January 2027. This position is reserved for Central African nationals and foreign candidates legally entitled to work in CAR. Women candidates are strongly encouraged. Recruitment is free of charge.
