NRC Ethiopia is looking for an experienced Partnerships and Private Sector Engagement Manager to lead and strengthen how it builds, manages, and grows meaningful partnerships.
In this role, you will develop and implement NRC Ethiopia's Partnership Strategy and related SOPs, ensuring the partnership approach is aligned with NRC's vision, strategic priorities, policies, and commitment to localisation. You will create a consistent and coordinated approach to partnerships across the Country Office and, where needed, Area Offices. You will build and maintain strong relationships with civil society organisations, private sector actors, academic institutions, and public authorities, and oversee the full lifecycle of formal partnerships: due diligence and partner selection, capacity assessments, agreement management, compliance monitoring, and audits. You will work closely with Specialists, Area Programme Managers, Project Managers, and Finance teams to ensure partnerships are well managed, compliant, and focused on delivering quality programmes.
A key part of the role is strengthening the capacity of NRC's partners, ensuring they understand donor requirements, compliance regulations, reporting deadlines, and NRC procedures. You will also help strengthen the culture of meaningful and equitable partnerships within NRC Ethiopia, advise colleagues and leadership on strategic partnership decisions, promote knowledge and capacity sharing, and advance localisation across programmes.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in a humanitarian, recovery, human rights or development context
- University degree combined with relevant professional background
- Knowledge of humanitarian principles
- Experience managing and implementing programmes in humanitarian contexts
- Fluency in English and Amharic, written and verbal
- Solid understanding of the Ethiopian civil society and private sector context
- Documented results in private sector engagement, partnership relations, management and/or coordination
- Excellent networking, coordination, training, facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in complex and volatile contexts, and programme management background (e.g. ICLA, Shelter, LFS, Protection, Education), are assets
This position is open to Ethiopian nationals.
Terms: Duty station Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 12-month fixed-term contract (renewable based on performance, funds availability and need). Travel up to 40%. Salary at grade 9 on NRC's Resident/National salary scale.
