One Acre Fund is seeking a highly skilled Senior Agronomist with at least 6 years of experience in Conservation Agriculture and farmer training deployment. Responsibilities include developing scalable conservation agriculture advisory models, designing extension materials and training curricula covering cover cropping, minimum tillage, agroforestry, and integrated pest management, and adapting approaches to local conditions. The role involves hands-on technical guidance to field teams delivering farmer trainings, Farmer Field Schools, and demonstration plots; building capacity of field staff and extension agents; and troubleshooting agronomic issues with farmers. The agronomist will evaluate and refine conservation agriculture practices to improve soil health, water retention, biodiversity, and productivity, collaborating with R&D teams on field assessments and translating findings into practical recommendations. The role also requires building partnerships with public, private, NGO, and academic stakeholders and coordinating cross-functional projects. Requirements: Master's degree in Agronomy, Agroecology, Crop Science, Soil Science or related field; minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience in agronomy or conservation/regenerative agriculture; proven experience developing extension materials and leading farmer-facing training; experience coordinating multi-stakeholder projects; willingness to travel extensively in rural settings; proficiency in English required. Contract duration is 2 years, renewable. Candidates with citizenship or residency in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, or Burundi are strongly preferred, though open to all applicants.
