The Global Fund aims to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics, playing a leading role in global markets for medicines and technologies that prevent, diagnose, and treat these diseases. The Quality Assurance & Compliance team within Supply Operations ensures safe access and delivery of quality-assured health products. The Specialist, QA Monitoring, Vigilance & Market Surveillance works under the supervision of the Manager, Product & Supplier QA Compliance, ensuring robust market surveillance and vigilance approaches to monitor the quality, safety and efficacy of health products throughout their lifecycle, and manages timely handling of health product related incidents post-shipment.
Key responsibilities include: contributing to development of QA policies and guidance; supporting technical assistance to countries on market surveillance and vigilance activities; leading analysis of quality and safety signals and contributing to risk mitigation strategies; investigating quality complaints and safety events and advising on risk-mitigation measures; coordinating product recalls with internal stakeholders and national regulatory bodies; supporting country capacity building including national vigilance systems and regulatory frameworks; and collaborating across Supply Operations, Technical Advice and Partnerships, Risk, and Grant Management divisions.
Essential qualifications: advanced university degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, life science or equivalent combination of academic/professional qualifications and experience in Quality Assurance & Regulation. Minimum 5 years working experience in QA management, experience within regulatory systems in global public health, experience with external partner engagement with UN agencies, International NGOs and Donors on QA matters, and experience with a major multilateral organization. Excellent English required, good working knowledge of French preferred.
