We are now seeking an experienced and politically astute Government Affairs & Advocacy Lead to strengthen the bridge between technical analysis and real-world policy outcomes across the region. This role will focus on building strategic relationships with governments, regulators, political stakeholders and industry leaders, translating research into actionable policy engagement, and helping drive meaningful decarbonization policy change in Singapore.
The successful candidate will be based in Singapore and work closely with T&Es teams across Brussels and Asia-Pacific.

? Build and maintain relationships with ministries, regulators, political advisors, and government agencies in Singapore and possibly across the region.
? Monitor policy, regulatory, and legislative developments related to transport, energy, and climate.
? Translate technical research and data analysis into concise policy briefings and recommendations, and vice versa.
? Organize policy roundtables, government briefings, and stakeholder dialogues.
? Engage directly with policymakers and regulators to advance T&E's policy priorities.

2. Advocacy Strategy and execution
? Develop advocacy and political engagement strategies to support T&E's Singapore and regional activities.
? Identify key political leverage points, decision-makers and stakeholder dynamics.
? Design policy change pathways and advocacy roadmaps aligned with T&E's regional priorities.
? Work closely with campaign, research and communications teams across APAC and Brussels.
? Support strategic positioning of T&E in regional policy debates and international forums.

3. Stakeholder Engagement
? Build networks with think tanks, academia, civil society organizations and industry stakeholders.
? Coordinate with international partners, NGOs and institutional stakeholders.
? Represent T&E in high-level meetings, conferences and policy discussions across the region.

4. Policy Research & Translation
? Analyze transport, energy and climate policies in Singapore and APAC markets.
? Review regulatory and legal frameworks relevant to decarbonization pathways.
? Support the development of policy reports, briefings and consultation submissions.
? Translate technical and economic analysis into policy-oriented narratives and recommendations.
? Help identify emerging policy opportunities and political risks.

5. Media & Public Representation
? Act as a spokesperson for T&E on policy and advocacy issues in Singapore.
? Participate in media briefings, interviews and public discussions.
? Represent T&E at conferences, workshops and industry events.
? Deliver presentations and briefings for governments, companies, NGOs and research institutions.
? Support strategic communications and public positioning efforts.

Job Requirements
? Minimum 8–10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, advocacy, political engagement or strategic communications.
? Strong understanding of transport, energy and shipping policy in Singapore.
? Demonstrated experience engaging policymakers, regulators and senior stakeholders.
? Experience working in NGOs, public affairs, consulting, think tanks or government is highly desirable.
? Strong political judgement and stakeholder management capability.
? Excellent writing and presentation skills, including policy briefings and executive-level communication.
? Ability to translate technical or research-based content into actionable policy narratives.
? Strong understanding of Singapore political and regulatory environments.
? Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
? Experience coordinating cross-regional or international projects is an advantage.
? Fluency in English required; additional Asian languages are considered a strong asset.
