Position Data Coordinator, Strategic Grants

Reporting to the Manager, Impact and Performance, the Data Coordinator, Strategic Grants, is responsible for the data collection and management of strategic grants and ensuring data integrity and accuracy in the preparation of reports for the program's funding agency. Key duties include, developing new data collection tools, implementing existing data collection tools, reviewing incoming data for completeness and accuracy, securely storing, aggregating and analysing the incoming data. The Data Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Data Steward Officer, the Governance and Reporting Coordinator and the Data Coordinator, Planting Grants, to ensure that program results are updated and included in the various reports and dashboards.
What you'll be doing
* Develop and implement a clear process for data collection to ensure data quality/integrity.
* Manage and update business processes related to the strategic grants database.
* Develop, implement, update and maintain data collection tools to collect valuable qualitative and quantitative data from strategic grants.
* Ensure that the results database contain accurate, complete, and up to-date information. Work closely with Funding team members to ensure a high standard of quality control and identifying data inconsistencies or errors for all reporting.
* Respond to data requests, including complex and multi-layered requests requiring deeper analysis and develop corresponding visual graphic representation to better display information. Supports the development of internal and external-facing presentations and reports.
* Contributes suggestions and written content to support process improvements for data collection and reporting workflows, documentations, tools, tables, procedures as needed.
* Using PowerBI, design and develop a dashboard showcasing strategic grant results.
* Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis of data coming from strategic grants.
* Build capacity amongst internal program teams and applicants to collect and provide high quality and complete results through the existing data collection tools.
* Assist the Manager, Impact and Performance in miscellaneous projects and tasks, as required.

Need to have:
* A combination of professional and lived experience and/or post-secondary education in a related field (public or business administration, economics, statistics, data science, project management, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of business support processes and tools, particularly advanced data manipulation and visualization skills using Microsoft Excel and PowerBI, computer business applications (MS Office suite, including Microsoft PowerPoint), customer-relationship management (CRM) software and database management
* Experience collecting and analysing large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data and information.
* Experience conducting data collection for environmental sustainability or urban forestry initiatives is an asset.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark) for scalable machine learning.
* Proficiency with programming frameworks and languages such as SQL, Python, TextBlob, scikit-learn., DAX is an asset
* Demonstrated experience with strong storytelling and visualization techniques using multiple tools including Excel, PowerBI, Microsoft CRM, etc. is required.
* Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently with good initiative and judgement, ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks, and work towards deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
* Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
* Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean is an asset.
