Global Artivism is a Global Majority-led movement that engages the full power of arts and culture to work toward a just world on a safe planet.
We are led by those most affected by injustice, particularly from the Global South. We understand art as praxis - an active force capable of mobilizing people, shifting narratives, and reshaping systems. The movement connects artists, cultural workers, and activists across regions.
The Role
Global Artivism is contracting an experienced program coordinator to lead the delivery of Global Artivism Month, a flagship annual program running in October or November 2026. The contractor will manage logistics, develop toolkits, and coordinate with partners across regions to ensure strong participation and consistent quality.
This is an independent contractor engagement managed through Global Artivism's fiscal sponsorship structure with Res Publica US Inc.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Planning and Coordination
- Own the delivery calendar for Global Artivism Month; build and maintain the full campaign workplan.
- Coordinate all internal workstreams and ensure alignment across the Secretariat team.
- Build synergies between Global Artivism Month and other strategic programs (regional virtual gatherings June-Aug, in-person gathering 2027).
- Identify and manage risks to delivery; flag blockers early and work to resolve them.
- Manage program budgets, tracking expenditures, and allocating resources efficiently.
- Maintain documentation of campaign decisions, changes, and lessons throughout delivery.
- Report on delivery progress to Executive Leadership, Global Council and Committees.
Partner and Community Mobilization
- Engage and coordinate partner organizations, regional networks, and community nodes.
- Ensure cross-regional coordination and shared campaign momentum with Global Artivism Regional Fellows.
- Build and facilitate engagement of the Global Artivism Month Steering Committee.
- Ensure strong and quantifiable Global South representation across activities.
- Develop partner briefing materials, campaign kits, and onboarding resources.
- Manage partner communication flows throughout the campaign period.
Toolkit Development
- Lead development of the Artivism practice toolkit for Global Artivism Month.
- Coordinate toolkit writers and community contributors; manage review and production processes.
- Ensure toolkit content reflects Global Majority voices and regional diversity.
- Coordinate with Communications teams on toolkit design and distribution.
Documentation and Post-Campaign Analysis
- Document campaign delivery, partner engagement, and outcomes in real time.
- Produce a post-campaign analysis report with outcomes, learnings, and recommendations.
- Support grant reporting requirements related to Global Artivism Month.
- Ensure an organized handover of all campaign materials at contract close.
Qualifications
Required
- Has managed campaign delivery or complex program coordination across a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Strong project management skills: builds and maintains workplans, tracks deliverables, manages multiple workstreams.
- Experience engaging and mobilizing partner organizations and communities around a shared initiative.
- Clear written communication in English. Multilingual ability in languages relevant to Global South communities is strongly valued.
- Comfort with digital collaboration tools (Google Workspace, ClickUp, Slack, or similar).
- Commitment to Global Artivism's values, mission, and guiding principles.
Preferred
- Experience in arts, cultural activism, or social justice campaign contexts.
- Familiarity with Global South communities and regional artivism ecosystems.
- Experience developing toolkits or resources designed for distributed use by diverse communities.
- Experience coordinating across a global, distributed team.
- Multilingual ability - languages relevant to Global South contexts strongly valued.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
Monthly contractor fee: USD $3,500 to $5,000/month, paid upon receipt of monthly invoices.
