Job description

Do you want to join a committed, activist-driven organization and take meaningful action for social justice?
For over 40 years, Médecins du Monde and its network of 17 chapters have been delivering healthcare to the most vulnerable, challenging barriers to access, and driving long-term change in health policies.

Across more than 70 countries, our work is built around six core missions:

• Sexual and reproductive health and rights (including access to safe abortion)
• Migration, exile, human rights and health
• Harm reduction
• Health and the environment
• Healthcare systems
• Humanitarian spaces

The Network aims to strengthen collective impact by fostering strategic alignment, cooperation, and mutualization among its members; supporting the development and implementation of shared strategies, policies, and standards; and representing the Network externally on issues of common interest. Its functioning relies on formal governance bodies, thematic and operational working groups, and a permanent coordination team (Network Support Team) that ensures coherence, continuity, and effectiveness across the Network.

Coordination and Governance

• Prepare, support, and facilitate relations with the Network’s governance bodies, including the production of decision-making and briefing materials.
• Coordinate network-wide initiatives falling under the mandate of Executive Directors and/or Presidents, and structure their governance (calendars, decision-making processes, follow-up mechanisms).
• Lead or contribute to the organization of regular meetings of the network governance bodies (President Council, Directors Council, yearly Network General Assembly, etc.), both virtually and in person, through agenda setting, facilitation and supervision of logistical/practical arrangements.
• Establish and maintain knowledge of individual chapters of the network and bilateral relations with their leadership, through document reading, bilateral exchanges and visits to each chapter’s HQ and/or projects.
• Design and implement appropriate monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) frameworks related to Network Annual Action Plans (based on Network Strategic Plan), and steer continuous improvement plans.
• Produce reports, activity reviews, and analytical syntheses for governance bodies and other stakeholders.
• Ensure the quality, compliance, and traceability of Network deliverables, in line with internal policies.
• Ensure structured archiving and accessibility of Network documentation and resources.
Change Management and Organisational Transformation

• Contribute to and support Network-level transformation initiatives (e.g. Transition to more coordinated system to manage the network international operations; Reflection on specialization of chapters and mutualization of resources).
• Mobilise stakeholders, facilitate collective buy-in, and support the practical appropriation of changes.
• Ensure clear, regular, and coherent communication on transformation objectives, processes, and impacts.
Team Management

• Supervise and support Network Support Team members (currently 7 staff), including performance management and professional development.
• Define priorities and objectives, monitor performance, and ensure the quality of outputs and services delivered.
