Scholarship Program for Individuals and Civil Society Organisations

Are you looking for capacity building opportunities that will help you become exceptional leaders, effective fundraisers, online facilitators, or advocacy practitioners? Our Scholarship Program 2021 subsidizes registration costs for all our training courses this year. It provides equal opportunities for grassroots and local NGOs and networks to work towards staff excellence and hence contribute to greater social impact.

About Us

The Civil Society Academy (CSA) started in 2014 as a pioneering initiative of Welthungerhilfe, one of the largest Development NGOs in Germany. Through genuine engagement with local actors and an excellent capacity and talent development, we strive to become a critical part of a new international eco-system that inspires civil society actors to fulfill their vision and mission. Since our inception, we have trained and coached more than 4000 people across Asia and Africa through our reflective and practical training courses, online as well as in person.

Who is eligible?

Staff of national, local, and grassroots NGOs and networks with fewer resources and funding (e.g. annual revenue)

What does the Scholarship Program cover?

We will cover 50%  to 80% of the registration fees for our openly scheduled online training courses. Please note, we do not award a 100% scholarship to any applicant.

If a program becomes overbooked or gets canceled, we reserve the right to schedule the scholarship recipient and enroll them in a similar training course later in 2021.

How do I apply for the scholarship?

Complete and submit the scholarship application form online on the CSA scholarship webpage. Please attach the following documents along with the application: a) organization/project budget; b) CV of the applicant. Remember to print out a copy of the application for your records prior to clicking on the ‘submit’ button. Please note: Only complete applications will be considered.
